Lake Laax

A beach experience in the heart of the mountains

Who would have thought that you could enjoy a beach experience at 1,016 metres above sea level? Laax shows that this is possible. In the centre of town, you can experience a unique bathing holiday in the heart of the Alps at Lake Laax (Lag Grond). A large sunbathing area, clear lake water and a breathtaking mountain panorama. Lake Laax also gave its name to the town of Laax – ‘Ils lags’ means ‘the lakes’ in the Romansh language.

However, Lake Laax has even more to offer than just magnificent mountain panoramas and water sports such as pedal boating and swimming. It features a beach volleyball court at an altitude of 1,016 metres, a children’s play area as well as fire pits to fuel up with barbecued food after an action-packed day.
