World Orienteering Championships in Flims Laax Falera

The World Orienteering Championships will take place in Flims Laax Falera from 11 - 16 July. Directly afterwards, the Swiss Orienteering Week will take place from 15 - 22 July. During this time there is a lot going on in the destination. In addition to the many running events, well-known artists such as Baba Shrimps and Pat Burgener will be on site for a concert.

  • 13 July: long distance women/men & concert Baba Shrimps
  • 15 July: Middle distance women/men & concert Pat Burgener
  • 16 July: Relay women/men

Closures during this time

As the orienteers will be both in the forest and on the mountain during the competitions, the following offers and activities will not be available between 11 and 22 July. 

Freestyle Academy
The Freestyle Academy will be closed from 8 to 18 July. 

Hubertus Archery Park 
The Hubertus Bogenpark will be closed on 13 and 17 July

GALAAXY Park

GALAAXY Park will be closed on 17 July.

Bike Transport 
17 July | No bikes will be transported from Laax Murschetg to Crap Sogn Gion until 4 p.m.
18 July | No bikes will be transported from Laax Murschetg to Crap Sogn Gion until 2 p.m.
20 July | No bikes will be transported from Flims to Nagens until 1 p.m.
21 July | No bikes will be transported from Flims to Nagens until 2 p.m.

Never End Trail
The Never End Trail is closed on 13 July. No bikes will be transported from Laax Murschetg to Crap Sogn Gion.

Lake Cauma 

On 15 July, the northern part of Lake Cauma is closed.

Start of the main season

Mountain Vision AG

On Saturday, 24 June 2023, Flims Laax Falera will start its main season. This means that the mountain railways will be in operation every day and all offers will be available. You can find the latest information on the live page.

Mountain railways

  • Chairlift Falera - Curnius
  • Aerial cableway Laax - Crap Sogn Gion 
  • Arena Express Flims - Plaun - Nagens 

Shuttle Buses 
The shuttle buses are also back this summer. Be it the Nagens, Bargis, Startgels/Foppa, Alp Mora or Rheinschlucht shuttle bus. All of them will bring you safely to your destination. All information and timetables can be found here.

Hiking & Biking
For bikers, in addition to the Nagens Trail, Runca Trail and Segnes Trail, there is now also the Never End Trail and the Vorab Trail. The hiking trails for hikers are also mostly free of snow. Above 2400 metres, snowfields are still to be expected.

Further activities 
From Saturday, 24 June 2023, the Senda dil Dragun tree-top walk can be experienced playfully with a wooden ball. A total of 5 ball installations are distributed along the 1.56 km long path. The GALAAXY Park on the Crap Sogn Gion is also open to guests from Saturday. In addition, the bow park from Crap Sogn Gion to Curnius is available. The Freestyle Academy at the Prau la Selva Sports Centre is open until and including Sunday, 9 July 2023 and will then serve as the event centre for the World Orienteering Championships and the Swiss Orienteering Week for around ten days. The KIDS Freestyle Academy will be open again from Saturday, 01 July 2023.

Start of bike operation Arena Express next weekend from 10 to 11 June 2023

After the Arena Express started operating as planned last Saturday, 03 June 2023 for hikers, bikers will also be transported from the coming weekend. Snowfields are still to be expected at higher altitudes. The opening times of the Arena Express and the other cable cars in the destination can be seen on the live page.

Mountain railways

  • Flims - Plaun: from 10 June 2023, daily
  • Flims - Nagens: Until 24 June 2023, every weekend

From 24 June to 22 October 2023, the Arena Express will operate daily from Flims to Nagens.

Lake Cauma
The lift, the lake bath and the restaurant are open daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. During this time the entrance to the lake bath is chargeable.

Restaurants
The Freeride Base is open for catering on the mountain.

Start of Arena Express railway operation next weekend from 03 to 04 June 2023

On the coming weekend from 03 to 04 June 2023, the railway operation of the Arena Express can be started as planned for hikers. For bikers, operations will start the following week on Saturday, 10 June 2023. The Freeride Base will be open for refreshments on the mountain. Snow fields are still to be expected at higher altitudes.

Daily operation (supervised lake bathing) at Lake Cauma incl. the Lake Cauma restaurant will also start on Friday, 02 June 2023. From this time onwards, admission is subject to a charge between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Caumasee lift is also open daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Mountain railways

  • Flims - Plaun: from 10 June 2023, daily
  • Flims Nagens for hikers: from 03 to 24 June 2023, every weekend
  • Flims Nagens for bikers: from 10 to 24 June 2023, every weekend

From 24 June to 22 October 2023, the Arena Express will operate daily to Nagens.

Shuttle
The Bargis Shuttle will still take you to the beautiful high valley, from where you can also start hiking tours.

Offer over Pentecost from 27 to 29 May 2023

On the coming Whitsun weekend from 27 to 29 May 2023, a wide range of mountain spring offers including gastronomy await our guests. Due to the snow and weather conditions, the opening of summer operations on the Arena Express will be postponed until the weekend of 3 June. Bikes will be transported from 10 June 2023.

Hiking 
The Pinut via ferrata is officially open again. However, snow fields are to be expected on hiking trails above 2'000 m above sea level. We have compiled our hiking recommendations for the mountain spring here.

Biking 
The bike shuttle takes you comfortably from Flims to Startgels to the entrance of the Runca Trail. The shuttle can be booked via the LAAX app.

Bargis & Convertible Shuttle
While the Bargis Shuttle takes you to the beautiful high valley, you can explore the Rhine Gorge with the Cabrio Shuttle.

Opening of the KIDS Freestyle Academy

On 28 January 2023, the KIDS Freestyle Academy will open at STENNA Flims. The new indoor freestyle hall is exclusively accessible for toddlers and children from 0 to 8 years. This makes it the ideal complement to the original Freestyle Academy LAAX, which is accessible for children aged 6 and over, teenagers and adults. Skate ramps, slides, trampolines, a crawling corner and much more in an imaginative ambience await the little freestylers. On the open day, there will be the exclusive first glimpses of the hall from 9.30 a.m. - 6 p.m., free admission and lots of fun and entertainment.

Freestyle Festival LAAX OPEN 2023

The LAAX OPEN 2023 is just around the corner and is getting a new addition: Europe's most prestigious snowboard contest is now including freeski slopestyle in its program. From 18 to 22 January, the world's best snowboarders and freeskiers will compete in LAAX.

The sporting highlight of the LAAX OPEN 2023 will be the finals around the GALAAXY at Crap Sogn Gion on the weekend of 21/22 January 2023. The best riders from the preliminary rounds will then compete for the coveted LAAX OPEN titles.

There is also a lot going on besides the contest program! From Wednesday, 18 January 2023, there will also be many live acts and DJ parties on the mountain and in the valley.
