From glaciers to the Rhine, from alpine mountain scenery across expansive alpine meadows and through enchanted forests. The vast landscape of Flims Laax, with its numerous singletrack trails, is a paradise for bikers. Cable cars and buses will take you wherever you want to go, right to where the adventure truly begins. Here are our highlights.

From glacier to Rhine

The tour from glacier to Rhine takes you through one of Switzerland’s most impressive landscapes. Starting at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sardona, you’ll pass glacier fields and alpine meadows all the way to the spectacular Rhine Gorge – the Swiss Grand Canyon. Along the way, you’ll follow the young Vorderrhein from its source to the gorge – a one-of-a-kind experience of geology, water, and breathtaking alpine scenery.

Crap Masegn Tour

If you take on this trail, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views and of course a very, very long downhill. It’s just a short climb from Crap Sogn Gion to Crap Masegn station, where the single trail fun begins. From here, the trail winds through partly rocky terrain, crossing back and forth over a mountain stream until it finally reaches Plaun via barren Alpine pastures along narrow single trails. The trail demands a certain level of expertise and is sure to be an experience to remember.

Crest da Tiarms

Looking for a true alpine mountain biking experience? The Crest da Tiarms tour in Flims Laax takes you way up high – and a very, very long and demanding way down. Even more: spectacular views, demanding lines, and a natural trail that leads you from rugged high alpine terrain all the way down to the valley in Ilanz. Running along the mountainside below Crap Sogn Gion, this trail offers a wild mix of rock slabs, switchbacks, root sections, and flowy parts – ideal for ambitious enduro riders. Not to mention: 2000 meters of demanding and flowy downhill action. Sounds good, doesn't it?

Crest La Siala Tour

From Crap Sogn Gion station, it’s just a short climb to the start of this trail. Once you get there, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Vorab Glacier across the Flimserstein and down to Flims. Then things really get going. From the start of the Crest la Siala down to the stream, you follow a rocky single trail where fun is guaranteed. You will continue along this trail until you reach the Plaun plateau. From here, you can venture on a number of other trails which will take you back to the valley. Work on the trail is ongoing. Possible detours are marked accordingly.

Vorab Trail Tour

The high alpine Vorab Trail with its rocky descents is a unique experience. From the mountain station Nagens Sura you pedal your way up to 2571m to the Vorab. But it is not only the panorama that is impressive, the trail is also a unique experience. 100% slickrock! In the lower part you reach the Nagens Trail and then you ride through the Green Valley and the Runca Trail all the way to Flims.

Enjoyable bike tours

Cruising on a mountainbike is for sure the easiest way to discover the Flims Laax area. There are so many paths and gravel roads that bring you to the lakes, to the BBQ areas or to the Rhine Gorge. Here are some tips for technically easy bike tours.

Flims Forest Round Trip

The trail through Flims forest offers magnificent views of the Vorderrhein gorge, the Ruinaulta. With its viewing points and restaurants, Conn is the perfect place to stop for a break. At Restaurant Conn, you can fuel up with some Trins pear ravioli or other delights, while marvelling at the breathtaking views of the Rhine gorge on offer from the ‘Il Spir’ platform. When you witness the 180° views of the gorge, you will understand why this is known as the 'Swiss Grand Canyon’.

Ruinaulta tour

This is one of the most beautiful and diverse trails in our region. This trail winds through our region, leading along the imposing Ruinaulta with views of the beautiful mountain landscape, through fairy-tale forests and past majestic bathing lakes. It’s not just the setting that’s diverse, but also our trails. You will encounter everything from tarred roads to forest paths and single trails. Expert bikers will complete this round trip in a day. Those who prefer to enjoy the landscape at their ease or fancy a dip in the refreshing lakes can also take on this trail in different daily stages or shorten it by public transport.

Alp Dadens

Fantastic bike tour on natural roads and easy single trails to the alp Dadens dairy above Falera. From Laax Murschetg you go up via the Planetenweg. Through the narrow streets of Falera you reach a well-built alpine road up towards Crap Sogn Gion. Once the last of the approx. 800 meters of altitude have been climbed, the route branches off over a small bridge onto the natural and rooty trail. As you reach Alp Dadens, the downhill begins:In the easy single trail descent to Falera you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Signina Group and the famous Rhine Gorge.

Swiss Epic Tour

Swiss Epic is the most famous stage race in Switzerland. The tour starts in Laax Murschetg and leads to Falera and Ladir. On the way you pass old farmhouses, chapels and the impressive panorama of the Grisons mountains. A wide trail leads from Ruschein down to Illanz. After you pass the Dominican convent and follow the Rhine for three kilometers, the route climbs again. The route leads you through the Flims forest continuously uphill towards Lake Cauma and then back to Flims to Alp Foppa, the highest point of the tour. From there you can join the Runca Trail and enjoy an eight-kilometer flow trail descent.

E-Bike-Tour: Bargis

If you start off in Flims, you will turn off towards Fidaz at the Flims guest information centre. From here, a mountain trail will take you along an asphalt road to the high mountain valley of Bargis, a paradise for all mountaineers.
